Why Do We Need To Pay Employees? What's PABC? They're really acronyms to get pay-for-achievement plans. Under these plans, workers in a company with high sales are rewarded or compensated for their accomplishments together with paid time off or other types of compensation. This idea originated in the belief that employee's time is limited and he or she ought to be happy with whatever is being done in one's job. There may be times when an employee will be not able to finish a specific job due to the absence of time to perform it. Hence, it was thought that paying employees for their works during times of shortages could cause them to feel valued and at peace. The plans have been started since firms were worried about the increasing cost of labour. They hoped that by paying employees, they would have the ability to save money and increase the sales. Not many people understand the difference between both of these plans. The initial plan that has been introduced in the US was calledPerformance Awards (PABX). In this plan, incentives and rewards are given to employees to motivate them to work longer and harder hours and increase the productivity in the company. Incentives are given in terms of money, bonuses or another form of reimbursement. The other kind of this pay-for-achievement plan is calledPay-for-Performance Plans. Here the only thing rewarded to workers is recognition is based on their performance. This plan does not provide any type of monetary awards. The first version of thepay-for-achievement program was set in England. A group of talented people have come together and formed theTime Management Society. They decided to improve the productivity of the individuals by paying them for their achievements. Their strategy was not enjoyed by everyone, but they persisted. The history of the plan isn't very clear, but there are evidences that support its effect. For instance, the history of the Industrial Revolution from 1830 to 1847, shows a tremendous increase in the productivity of the workers and an increase in the price of the merchandise. Additionally, the rise in the workforce throughout the Second World War is just another evidence of the role of this strategy. Every one of these cases prove that companies have profited from pay-for-achievement programs, especially those who were initiated during the Second World War. To put it differently, the strategy is working. Employees working for high-tech companies have their tasks simplified and the companies also have lower prices. They help to boost the quality of work and the efficacy of the business. There's no doubt that there are situations which can be reduced or modified, but the degree of productivity in many companies has been improved to some extent with the support of the plan. And all these advantages can be credited to the strategy.
