The above graphic shows the position of each portion of the mind when processing audio. There are many views on how music is processed by the mind, the following are a few examples of popular perspectives. However, all perspectives of a similar character are on display here. Some people believe that the mind is mostly responsible for language processing. They assume that this brain region is responsible for translating sounds and transmitting messages from person to person. The first type of the view of music processing is popularly called synchronistic: sound-to-language version. This model claims that language is transmitted through the ear and if we know a language it's possible to understand the significance of the sound. The next opinion is that noises are actually sound. We then state that sounds are notsound because they're in fact a noise. This can be viewed from hearing a word forsound likebuzzing. Noise doesn't have significance. It is simply noise. The next view is that the brain has a soundnoise processing mechanism. It contrasts sounds and determines whether they are meaningful or not. This view says that all sounds could be translated to imply something. The fourth perspective of audio processing is that the mind isn't in control of what is being played. It only knows how to perceive things. A person could have the ability to hear and interpret sounds but the brain can not actually perceive anything, everything isjust seem. This view claims that our brain only perceives those items which are meaningful. Music therapy is often practiced where the individual is performed straightforward or intricate pieces of music via an ear, or a trained artist that also aids the patient. This also assists the patient to adjust to the music and to find the underlying meaning. By altering the sounds, the individual will learn how to recognize different meanings and thus be able to talk about and understand their own experiences. All these views is legitimate in some way. The following diagram shows where the brain's ability to store and recall the information is stored in the mind. When we learn a new piece of music that the brain immediately adds fresh connections from the new info to regions in the brain related to audio processing. Due to the sheer complexity of audio processing in the brain there is no one answer to the question, where is music processed from the mind? There are many more perspectives on music processing than could be listed here.
